It’s time for the annual Ottawa Hills Community Rummage Sale, a fund-raiser that supports the Ottawa Hills International Program and the Ottawa Hills Band Program. Organizers need volunteers, clothing racks to borrow, and your gently used items from closets, garages, attics, and basements.
Event details: Saturday, Nov. 9: 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. High School Multipurpose Room
When, where to drop-off items:
- Thursday, Nov. 7: 12:30- 8 p.m.
- Friday, Nov. 8: 12:30- 7 p.m. PLEASE - NO AM Drop-offs (THIS IS A CHANGE FROM PRIOR YEARS.)
- No drop-off hours Saturday
Limited pickups available. Call for details (see contact info below). When dropping off, use the Kenwood Avenue entrance to the high school. The suggested route is to go east on Kenwood, access a small driveway behind the junior high and drive up the grassy slope to the doors nearest the choir room. This makes dropping off very efficient and convenient.
What to donate:
- Finer things
- Adult and children's clothing
- Baby items
- Household goods
- Sporting goods
Do not bring large or heavy outdated computers or TVs. All donations are tax-deductible, so please remember to ask for a donation slip.
Volunteer needed during these hours:
- Thursday, Nov. 7: 12:30-8 p.m. (drop-off day)
- Friday, Nov. 8: 12:30-10 p.m. (drop-off day)
- Saturday, Nov. 9: 8 a.m.-5 p.m. (day of event)
You do not need to work the entire shift. Volunteer for as many hours as you can. Volunteers often drop in, work for a while, then come back again later in the day. Your help is greatly appreciated. Your donated time helps this event raise thousands of dollars for our students. Plus as a volunteer, you get to shop early!
