Junior High students enjoyed their first “Unplugged” event of the year last week (Sept. 20). “Unplugged” is sponsored by the parent-support group OH21 and it gives seventh and eighth graders an opportunity to enjoy old-fashioned fun with board games, cornhole, and spike ball.
Students also enjoyed hamburgers and hot dogs grilled by social studies teacher Sean Mercer. “Students get an opportunity to socialize and have fun in a technology-free environment,” said Darcy Browne, interim assistant principal, in summing up the purpose of “Unplugged.”
Many thanks to the Ottawa Hills Schools Parent Association for sponsoring the event and providing the junior high with a new grill. Special thanks to Kathy Benecke, Kristie Stevens, Mr. Mercer, Paul Genzman, Dan Feuerstein, Anne Klein, Jamie Johnson, Byron Swartz, and Mrs. Browne.
