From Superintendent Dr. Adam Fineske
Good afternoon, Green Bear Nation.
As Day 11 of our shared learn-from-home experience draws to a close, I wanted to check in with hopes that you and your families are staying healthy and focused. Ottawa Hills faculty and staff miss seeing our kids every day. Yes, we really do! With each passing day, that absence becomes harder to accept. But only by sticking together can we get through the COVID-19 crisis.
Starting tomorrow, the district rolls out the OH Remote Learning Plan with its emphasis on routine and structure. To celebrate the launch, I am making a series of short weekly videos to connect, educate, and stay in touch with everyone. I’m calling them "Face Time with Fineske!" and I’m using–what else!–Google Meet to record them. Hope you enjoy the first one! (Play video)
A district team built the Remote Learning Plan and Schedules to be flexible and truly "connect" with and engage the minds of OH students. We know these changes come with new pressure and responsibility but are confident in our students and your ability to support them.
Lastly, the Remote Learning Plan relies heavily on technology. Families and students may have questions or need support and additional resources. To help, we built a one-stop web location for OH parents, students, and educators, including links to schedules. Please review it and keep the link handy: www.ohschools.org/remotelearning
Remember: The health and well-being of you and your family is the most important issue. Stay strong and healthy. We will get through this. On behalf of faculty and staff, we cannot wait to be together again in and around our Village!
