The Village Equity Alliance hosts a "Storytime" event Saturday, May 15, at the Arrowhead point (intersection of Indian Road and Bancroft Street) for students, families, and other Villagers. The one-hour event starts at 10 a.m. West Toledo resident Lindsey Melden begins the series with books, songs, and a game that celebrates diversity. Mrs. Melden is a local mom of three daughters, a former ambassador of Barefoot Books, and an activist.
She will read Amazing by Steve Antony and When Charley Met Emma by Amy Webb. Both books are about friendship, being yourself, and sharing positive messages about diversity. They help kids think about disability, kindness, and how to behave when they meet someone who is different from themselves. Masks and social distancing required. The event will be livestreamed and recorded. RSVP to firstname.lastname@example.org
