The annual Fall Collage Concert provided a showcase for the vocal and instrumental music programs at the junior and senior high schools. Vocal Music Director Donna Wipfli and Band Director Michael Leeds carefully chose songs that demonstrated the talents of our young musicians.
More than 200 students participated, which featured two dozen selections ranging from classical to contemporary. The audience was thoroughly impressed with the beauty and complexity of the selections.
Favorites included This is Me from "The Greatest Showman" and Sweet Honey in the Rock’s Wanting Memories performed by the Choraliers; Rise Up, Home, and Alleluia performed by the concert choir; Pump It and Malaguena by the marching band; Alexander’s Ragtime Band and Hist Wist by the junior high choir; Hymn of Thanksgiving by the Junior High Concert Band; a cadence series by the High School Drumline and Aya Ngena by the Junior Chorale.
Congratulations to all of performers and to directors Mrs. Wipfli and Mr. Leeds as well as drum major and junior, Rohit Mukherjee. Thanks to accompanists Steve Wipfli and Amy Sujkowski. And a special thanks to alumnus Max Cummins who spent a week practicing with the OHHS Drumline.
The district's music programs would not be possible without the generous support from Ottawa Hills Music & Theatre Association (OHMTA) members and other community partners. Please consider supporting the vocal and instrumental programs by joining OHMTA. Membership forms are here.
