This is OH, in partnership with Ottawa Hills Local Schools, invites you to participate in an important dialogue March 20.
Building an Inclusive OH: A Community-Wide Conversation
In an effort to bring together Villagers, parents, the schools, and high school students on the important topics of diversity, inclusion, and equity, This is OH is partnering with Ottawa Hills Local Schools to host an evening of facilitated conversation. We hope this event will be a catalyst for an open and continuing dialogue that will further strengthen our goals of diversity and inclusivity for our community and schools.

Location: High School Library
About This is OH:
This community-based diversity and inclusion group formed about three years ago. It originated following a spirited and wide-ranging online discussion that raised concerns about issues related to diversity and inclusion within the Village of Ottawa Hills.
A group of parents and other Villagers began to meet and together identified a number of priorities. To work on those priorities, group members reached out and began working informally with Ottawa Hills Local Schools’ administration and Village management and police to help raise awareness and improve issues related to diversity, inclusion, and equality in our community and schools.
True to its roots, This is OH is and remains a Village-wide effort. Village residents are encouraged to get involved. The group’s current subcommittees are focused on five areas:
- developing a systematic emphasis on diversity in hiring
- training on issues of diversity
- community/incident response team
- developing a comprehensive list of events/programs already in place in the schools and Village that relate to diversity, inclusion, and equity.
